The table is stuck, please help

I attached the pictures so you can see what I mean. I am trying to get the table up and clear the saw blade.

I loosened both A and B. I can get it to lift up a little bit, but it won't budge either left or right. The saw blade is wedged up against one side of the opening, so I don't know if this is part of the problem?

There is a slight amount of rust and dust on the tubes, and I need to get that off and oil everything. But I was hoping to be able to get the table up first!

The blade being wedged up against the insert could be part of the problem. Loosen the quill lock handle (just to the right of the On/Off switch) and advance the quill feed lever (probably attached to the quill depth feed knob on the other side of the headstock) until the blade is centered in the insert, then re-lock the quill lock. Hope that will loosen things enough to allow you to raise the table via the table height wheel.

Welcome to the forum. I am enjoying your posts. I hope my response offers a glimmer of a way to loosen things up. First off I suggest you loosen both the headstock and table locks. I am speaking of the locks that when loosened allow you to move either the table or the headstock. You may also need to check that the quill locks both on the front and back are open. This combination should offer you the ability to move the blade from its current wedge spot. Once all is loosened you need to remove the table and clean then use Johnsons original paste wax to lubricate all tables rails and posts. I suspect you will be amazed at how well everything works. If not others who are far wiser than I will offer better ideas. Jim

Can ya extend the quill to get the blade centered in the slot? Or take the red insert out? Make sure "A" in loosened enough, then make sure ya haven't gotten the tubes cocked so that they bind. Maybe squirt some wd40 down in the hole, which you'll have to clean up after ya get em out.

I believe that in one of your earlier, posts you said that you got the machine from someone on "permanent loan". I don't want to tell you what to do but you are going to do a lot of work by cleaning, lubricating, polishing and waxing as well as put a few bucks into the machine. I would offer the owner a couple of bucks and just have it become your tool. The SS is a great tool and worth the effort to fix it up provided that it is yours. Hate to see someone go through all that kind of effort if the "owner" decides that he needs to have it bAck.

He has absolutely no woodworking interests, however, and it's worth it to me to get this working because I've decided that I really need it. Not the machine itself-- I need to build cabinetry.

ok I have unlocked the quill thing and it's finally moved a little! The blade is centered at least. Now on to the next problem: when I raise SIDE A (picture attached) it seems like SIDE B doesn't come with it, and it's not working.

I loosened the thingie labeled in the second picture (attached). But it's still not coming up. What am I missing?

Well that certainly explains why it is being reluctant!

There is a tube that is connecting the main table(a) to the extension table(b). There are thumb screw locks on both tables. Loosen them(both front and rear). Lower the main tabled(a) so that both tables are the same height and the tube connecting them is straight. The tubes should then slide out of the larger tubes on the tables.

a,b below refer to the third(last) pix.

That will 'disconnect' the two tables aznd the main table(a) should then be free to raise up over the blade by rotating the crank.
