The cardboard sheath it comes in says that it is a 9 point / 15 inch crosscut saw. It has become one of my most frequent "grab and use" tools. It has teeth much like the Jananese saws but this is still a push saw with a stiff blade. The blurb on the sheath says that it "cuts wood 50% faster than conventional saws". I would say "at least"... I was reminded of how fast it is Friday morning very early when I wanted to cut four pine 1" X 4"s but my wife was still asleep.
I made a couple of starter passes then cut all 4 of them at once in about 3 seconds.
It has sharpening instructions and there is mention of a sharpening kit # 22-434.
I need to pick up a couple more of these for other locations. I gave it a fresh coat of JPW Friday. I have had it a couple of years and it still looks like new. I keep it in its sheath and plan to make a leather sheath for it.
Almost everybody should have one of these.
