Re: Flexible shaft lubrication

My question is also on lubrication. Too bad this six-year-old question was never answered in this thread. I have my grandfather's 1950's vintage flexible shaft (still has the Montgomery Ward price tag attached - $10.50!). I also have his 1955 Montgomery Ward tool catalog that includes the Shopsmith....

Re: Power Cord Replacement

I just finally got around to replacing the switch and power cord on my 1955-vintage Magna Engineering Shopsmith Mark V. It turned into an ordeal that took all afternoon. But I got it done. I had called Shopsmith last year when my original switch failed, told them *exactly* what I had, and purchased ...

Re: Magna Headstock Service

Re: Magna Bandsaw Plastic Cover

Nice job, and thanks for the info. I found most of the pieces, but there were still some missing. I also found it impossible to fit them together perfectly without braking them further, as they cracked off in different directions and I just couldn't slide them together without breaking them some mor...

Re: Magna Headstock Service

Interesting. I edited that photo and made it right-side-up before posting it, but it still came out sideways.

Re: Magna Headstock Service

Thanks, I will check all that out and re-secure the nameplate (I think the stud is intact). I do have all the manuals for everything. I appreciate the pointers on access to the head stock. Regarding the owner's manual: It is TMG-3469A-84(0)-P-7B*. On the back it is Cat. No. EM 9100-A-M5-8-55, copyri...

Thanks, now I need to find out what "Tinnerman clips" are. Google knows all... ;)

Thanks again.
