I pulled the belt cover and the spring fell out.
I don`t know why the snap ring popped off.
Found all the parts and cleaned them, oiled and reassembled them.
seems to work now. thanks guys

Loud noises

I was running on low speed, turning a knob for a jar.
The loud noise sounded like the garage door spring had broken.
The mach. kept on running - but I shut it down as quick as I could.
What do I now look for.

thanks, Found the hole. New parts came in and started to put it together. BUT the new sheave would not go on the shaft. Called to ask if there were two different sizes, answer is no. I had used emery cloth to be sure there were no burs on the shaft. S.S. was quick to sent a diff. sheave and would ha...

I can`t even get an allen wrench between the sheave and the end cap on the motor. Do I need to split the motor to get at the set screw? I checked between the splines on the sheave to see if the set screw was hiding. It`s not there.
