That is certainly different. I expect it worked quite well.
Yes, it worked very well. Probably reduced the time needed by a couple days in one of the hottest summers in OK.

Re: 12- Flat Sanding Disk Uses

Here's one not in the PTWFE. A dozen plus years ago, while building my first CNC, I used the disc as a hand wheel to tap a bunch of holes in the ends of 80/20 extrusion. I had the tap in the drill chuck, the extrusion flat on the table. Sure beat trying to tap by hand, although as I recall my ...

Re: Need help to figure this one out...

oldwoodnewb,

Glad you found a good, clean, better machine much closer to you. Hopefully it was well cared for and will give you many years of enjoyment.

Here is a good post with new owner maintenance and cleaning tips, if you haven't already found it: https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t ...

Re: Need help to figure this one out...

Now knowing your location, I found a nice looking, clean 510 for $500 on FB Marketplace in Buena Park. Includes a bandsaw and jointer. Many other listings in the LA and San Diego areas for everything from 10Es to Mark 7s and prices from $100 to $6000.

There's a heckuva deal in Vista for another ...

Re: Need help to figure this one out...

oldwoodnewb,

Yes, that's a 500 configuration. As Ed noted, the saw guard is missing in the pictures, perhaps he has that elsewhere, something you'd definitely want if you want to use the table saw function.

Have you not found something closer to you? Ideally with a 510 or 520 table configuration ...

Re: Mark V - I think? Need help with value please

Kwilde6434,

From what I can see from the pics and assuming that the base machine powers on properly and can smoothly run up and down in speed (never turn the speed dial without the motor running or at least manually turning the spindle), I think a price somewhere in the $500 to $700 range would be ...

Re: Kreg Edge Loose Tenon Tool

While watching this, I spotted what I think is a dust extractor port on the Edge, take a look at 6:22 and 7:57 in the video. I also thought it was missing from this as they focused so much on the "not needed" design.

Re: Kreg Edge Loose Tenon Tool

One would hope that a major established company making a highly similar product would have carefully studied the non expiring patents. But, never know.

Re: Kreg Edge Loose Tenon Tool

RF Guy,

I saw in the comments of that video that it could do 5, 6, 8, and 10mm thick mortises; I don't know how that compares to the df500, which I'm sure they're targeting for features. Yeah, I'm also mixed on battery only for this particular tool brand as I don't foresee myself with any of their ...

Kreg Edge Loose Tenon Tool

The first of the non-Festool domino tools was announced this afternoon, the Kreg Edge. $500 to include one battery and charger or $450 bare. Targeting shipping this fall. Looks like they're trying to attract the casual woodworker, rather than more serious with some obvious design decisions to save ...
