Nick is this an ok way to go?

Nick thanks for the Instruction. I wanted to run by what I did in the corner to see if it would have been ok had I not glued it as well. I made some corner braces which were screwed and glued into the aprons. Then had a screw hole in the center to screw the top down. I felt this gave the table some ...

Thanks again

Well, bummer, but that is how one learns. It is funny that I was thinking about wood movement alot for some cabinet doors in my next project, but I hadn't thought about it for a top. I guess I will paint the little table and enjoy it while I can. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out for my ...

Thanks Nick

Well guilty of storing the wood vertically on the garage floor. While the floor was dry, it has been raining for a few weeks here. I also glued the top to the table and screwed it in place. The wood was already split prior to that. If I seal the wood with an enamel paint, will that prevent or reduce...

photos of the table

Here are a couple of photos of the table.

This was my first try at mortise and tenon. It is a stand for a little water cooler. I still have to do the final sanding and haven't decided how I am going to finish it yet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I will take some photo's tomorrow and post them. I thought that I looked over the wood pretty well prior to assembly and didn't notice the checks. This piece was sort of a practice piece to learn how to do mortise and tenon joints as well as how to use my biscuit joi...

Checks in end grain

I just finished constructing my first table. It came out pretty nice, but I noticed some checks in the end grain on the top. I don't think they were there when I started out. I let the wood stand in my garage for a month before working on it. The wood is poplar. How does one deal with these? I thoug...

Thanks Tim, After you mentioned that, I realized I had an extra bar left over from my 520 upgrade so I drilled and tapped it and as soon as I get some new bolts it should work fine. The "American Made" Delta product appears to have metric bolts. That is inconvenient in that I don't have me...

Delta 34-183 Tenoning Jig

I bet you guys know my question. A friend of mine lent me, on a long term loan, a Delta Tenoning Jig. It is really heavy duty and looks like it would work very well, but the guide bar is too wide to fit in the miter track. Is there a way to make this work? Does Delta or Shopsmith make a guide bar th...

Sawdust Session Error

Has anyone noticed that the scroll saw ornament video is actually the rolling pin video?
