Sorry for the brief answer. Penn States Industry is a woodturning mail order catalog. They sell an adapter that fits the 5/8th shaft of the shipsmith. This allows you to attach most of the hogher end chucks. It sells for about $15.00

Base cabinet for Mark V
I have been thinking of removing the legs of the Mark V and building a base cabinet with casters on the bottom. Storage is always a problem in a small shops and the legs seem to be a wasted space. Has anyone done this?

I recently completed a project which required lap joints to be created which were 3" wide. I was using 2x4 stock. I used a dado set to accomplish the cut.
