I thought I'd put up some pictures of my revised version. This is on a 6 inch faceplate that came with my 1955 Greenie. However, I wonder if it actually is a Shopsmith faceplate? It is steel instead of aluminum and has a slotted screw instead of an Allen screw.

I wonder if an ultrasonic cleaner with Kroil would get it free. You could get your wife an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and just ask to borrow it for a while. It looks like they run around $30 to $35.

Sorry Joe, but I can't help you. I have never even worked with MDF (I'm very new to woodworking), and this is my first router table. Also, I have two vintage 500's and have only seen pictures of a 510 and a 520.

This is still in prototype. I may use a small sawhorse with the expanding clamps for the legs, or make some legs just for the router table.

I used one of my left over counter tops to make my first router table.

Thanks for the tips and the link. I like the clear base; it seems like it might keep you more focused on safety. It may be a little thick for my old router. It only extends an inch above the 1/8" existing baseplate.

Now I going shopping to see if I can get any ideas.
