Extension table tubes stick

My extension does not slide up and down easily. I have loosened the four mounting bolts to align this table with the main table but when I tighten them, the extension table is hard to slide.

Thoughts.......help?

Universal lathe tool

I am in the process of turning two table lamps and just got my new universal lathe tool. Wow! What a difference. Solid as a rock and easy to adjust with a good range of motion.

Also got tool rests from Best Wood Tools which are a vast improvement over the SS issue stuff. I had previously ordered ...

I wanted to turn a couple of lamps from Myrtlewood but I am finding this stuff extremely hard (no pun intended) to cut and drill.

I tried to drill an hole through the middle of a 4x4 piece for the lamp cord rod with a 12" drill but only made it about 8" before it bound up. And yes, I was clearing ...

Low speed problem

I haven't had time to explore this thoroughly so I throw it out to you for some thoughts.

I replaced my pork chop, poly V belt and did a high speed adjustment per Nick's video (leaving about 1/6" showing between belt and edge of lower pulley).
