From the drawing, it looks like the side that is supposed to have the feed motor may be missing many other things as well. For example, is it missing the gear cover (reference #50), the bearing support (reference #20), or the feed pinion (reference #49)?

Help me identify the missing planer parts

All, I have attached two pictures (one of each side) of a used pro planer I bought today. I could tell it was missing parts, but the seller told me the parts were in a large storage box he was including with the sale (Note: I bought a lot of Shopsmith accessories from him). Unfortunately, the parts ...

The person I'm considering purchasing from also has a Shopsmith 510 (which I would not be buying) bought in 1995, so I assume the accessories are not any older than that. There is a lot of rust on the jointer bed and the planer in-feed table. This person doesn't know if any of it really works or not...

What are reasonable prices for used Shopsmith accessories?

All,

I have an opportunity to purchase the following used Shopsmith accessories all at once:

- Strip sander
- Power station
- Bandsaw
- Pro planer with motorized stand
- DC3300 dust collector
- Belt sander
- Jointer

What is a reasonable price to pay for this?

Should I buy a DC3300 dust collector?

All, I have the Harbor Freight dust collector, and it has worked very well for me for the past couple of years. It has a 4" hose and port, which I have successfully used with many of my 4" port woodworking tools -- my Craftsman saw, Rigid planer, and Jet jointer. Now I have a Shopsmith, wh...

If I'm going to be spending $23.40 to make the sanding disc work with the lower blade guard, I have to ask: Does the lower blade guard with a shop vac attached do a good job of dust collection?

Sanding disc blocked by lower blade guard

All, I bought a used model 510 several months ago and I'm just now needing to use the sanding disc. It mounts to the main spindle just fine. However, with the lower saw guard in place, you cannot push the disc all the way on to the drive spindle because the guard blocks that from happening. This doe...

Bill, I removed the belt cover as you suggested and found that one of the motor mounting brackets was broken. I have included a picture of it. Also one motor mounting screw was missing as well. Will I need to order a new bracket? If so, it looks like I will have to apply some force to get the motor ...

Unable to mount my reconditioned headstock on the tubes

All, I sent out my headstock for reconditioning/repair to an individual who is well known for quality work. It just came back in the mail, but I have discovered I am unable to mount it back on the tubes. I have been in e-mail contact with the individual and he suggested that the headstock locks (of ...

Headstock vibration past speed "S"

All, I've got my Shopsmith 510 in a vertical position to do shaping/routing operations. When the speed is cranked up past "S", I hear a loud vibration noise that sounds like something metallic is loose in the headstock. Also, the speed dial doesn't hold its position and begins to move to t...
