I have never heard of using a band saw for tool steel, start by talking to blade manufactures to see if they can handle tool steels and find out what speed they recomend.

On one hand it is good to know it can be done and on the other, it makes it very frustrating. I am using the 5/8 SS blade, without a lot of use, so I hope it is still pretty sharp. I will need to play with it more this week.

Funny I have seen the same thing about intermitten problems, they tend to grow in frequency as well. Sounds like you need to hurry on that rehab project.
