I used the powder on my shop tools this fall.....I would spread it on the table of the table saw, band saw, all iron tables along with wd40 or white grease to make a slurry, then a fine abrasive pad to work it in and yes it does wonders!!!!

Bandsaw mod

I have never had needle bearings break up like that....I too use lithium grease on the bearings...I replaced band saw bearings on recently purchased used SS with bandsaw, planer, dust collector, jointer, belt sander, and power stand!!! I think buying used is the only way to go!!!

Carter makes a stabilizer that they advertise to be for the Shopsmith but I am unable to determine why I might need one. It looks like just another bearing that mounts behind the blade. If one has their bandsaw adjusted correctly, I am at a loss to see what it might do to improve performance ...

Thanks so much for the response.....It looked to me to be a two_part bearing, but I thought I would check with you guys before I tried to remove them. Does your bandsaw run quite or rather loud????
