Contacted SS customer support, sent them some photos and they sent a replacement carriage. Change-out was not nearly as hard as I was expecting.

It clamps to the saddle between the rails.

The Universal Tool Rest does not put any pressure on that area.

I was getting ready to turn some pens using the Universal tool rest when I noticed the crack. The last thing I had done that required the table was the drill press to prep the pen blanks a couple of weeks ago.

Mark 7 Cracked Carriage
I have a Mark 7 which is just now 2 years old. The Carriage is cracked on the front side where the Table Support Tubes fit.

I get dust on the 2x2s and some on the accessories I store there but it vacuums quite easily.

Natural Edges Coaster Caddy w/Coasters. Bradford Pear (Blew down in the backyard a couple of years ago) Slot on the backside so the coasters can be pulled out.
Tried to post pictures but the preview doesn't seem to show them, I guess I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

My quick solution is nowhere near as elegant. I had some scraps of 12" wire closet shelving, and a 6' 2x4.
I was afraid the wire shelf would interfere with the lift piston I added.
It is just as important to be lucky as good.

Actually, most of the pen kits from Woodturnigz are Penn State kits. I use them a lot. I'm am part of the Freedom Pen Project at Redstone Arsenal, we do pens for units downrange and Warrior Transition units as a way to support the troops.
