Re: Shopsmith under-machine tool boxes

You using slip on shoes???? What is the problem with slip on shoes? I can see issues depending on the type of slip on shoes, but there are some very good safety shoes that are slip on. IIRC, over twenty years ago on the repair ships I was stationed on, the foundry workers were required to have slip...

Re: Changing belts - TotalShop - Upper drive shaft stuck

On the 2nd photo of the top of the casting, there are a couple of flat spots along the seam just to the right of the belt cutout. These flat spots remind me of the set screw on top of the SS when it was filled with putty and painted over. Is it possible that a set screw is hiding in one of them?

Re: Changing belts - TotalShop - Upper drive shaft stuck

Does it look like part numbers 18, 20 and 76 are set screws on the top side of the quill through the casing? If so these would prevent the quill from moving. I know the SS has one in about the same area as the part number 76 is located to keep the quill from extending too far. The same period SS hea...

Re: Name that Jig...

The 2 smaller ones look like stop blocks for cross cuts. The one with the second piece of wood on the side for a piece of wood attached to the miter gauge and the other for on the fence. The large one is a home made tenon jig that slides on the fence.

Re: Lowe's changes veteran/military discount

I often compare package deals online before going to the store. If you add the item to the shopping cart online, the discount is displayed if eligible.

Dog Kennels

Last summer my daughter got a new puppy for us then she got one for herself a few months later. Now that they are nearing adult size, I made a couple of kennels for them. Nothing fancy just pocket holes and screwed together but the kennels allow them their own space and a set of stairs for when they...
