 Wow, just went online at SHOPSMITH.COM ...
Seems I don't exist anymore. Couldn't sign in. No record of my Account Number. No records of numerous Orders. Very disappointing. :(
Guess the " CUSTOMER SERVICE " everyone talks about ... Isn't there afterall and not important. But I guess I'm ...

A Long piece would be okay if you were mostly always making projects 7 inches or less. I pretty much never make "long" projects.
They tend to be as tall as long. Unless it's a shelf/cabinet. So... me ...

Re: Considering a ShopSmith Purchase
Sound advice already posted. You can get a good used Mark 510 or 520 with all the additional add-ons included at a decent price. (Just found a planer myself... thanx guys!) ;)
Then you can upgrade to a new "Power Pro" headstock or then make a decision on the Mark 7 and keep the add-ons to ...

Okay... this one caught my eye. Was kinda funny. Last sentence goes to show what happens when your state passes legal "SUBSTANCES" use laws.

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
Didn't mean to kick over a can of worms. That is a nice resto job on your 10ER. But the one in the ad picture looks like the rust is becoming cancerous. When it etches in the metal the damage signs will always be there even though you can get all the rust color out. Your "before" picture showed you ...

Here's one that is truly pitiful. Sad to see this one. I don't know if this could ever recover. NEVER will mine ever come this close...

Thanx for the pics...
Those wooden ones you made look sweet! They won't mark or scratch the chrome tubes making it rough to move the headstock around. Already fought that battle removing some gouges that happened a few years back. But I got them smoothed out again. So I'm cautious now.

Re: Looking for a Planer # 505990
Well I think I've found one. It looks in good shape, a little dirty and dusty from storage. They bought it at an estate auction sale thinking it was a stand alone. Won't get a chance to look at it or know until Monday. According to them it has the manual but doesn't have the mounting parts that ...
