From something I read on a machinist forum, the size of the e-clip is based on the shaft size, and assumes a smaller groove. However, I'll probably buy a 1/2" as well as a 7/16", just in case. ;)

While greasing the upper wheel bearing I damaged my "wound" ring. I'd like to replace it with an e-clip or snap ring. Does anyone know what size is needed? I couldn't find my caliper before I left for work.

Thanks everyone! I just used a hole saw in my cordless drill and everything went well.

Now, I'm thinking about adding the blade tension window!

Adding Dust Port to Bandsaw

I just bought a 2-1/2" universal dust port to add to my cast iron table band saw. Is there a recommended way to drill the hole for it in the 30 year old hard plastic cover? I don't want to just throw a hole saw at it and end up cracking it. Any special tips? Thanks!
