GE 1 1/8 motor bearings
I am attempting to replace the bearings on a 1 1/8 GE motor. However I have run across something new. I am used to seeing a milled seat on the shaft. On this spindle there appears to be a snap ring. Is that correct? or is it there to act as a seat for the bearing and is not to be removed? This "...

Re: '59 Greenie extra retaining clip?
I think the manufacturer number is 22/607. However could be wrong. These old eyes aren’t what they used to be. The size is 15x675. Now that being said, I got irritated with the noise and pulled the motor to isolate the problem. This motor is a GE 1 1/8. If I am not mistaken this is slight larger ( b...

Re: '59 Greenie extra retaining clip?
also, I just noticed that the belt only rubs the way
bar in the high/fast settings. so it appears to be
related to the motor position. it doesn't appear to
effect performance but can not be good for the belt.

Re: '59 Greenie extra retaining clip?
Installed new belt.
Silly question, the belt rubs on the way bar.
Motor appears to be in the correct position.
Is this “normal”? Seems strange.

Re: '59 Greenie extra retaining clip?
This is the current state. Definitely not green any more.
I do have quite a lot of the original documentation. I have not gone through
all the papers but I would be happy to submit something if it helps.
I will have a look tonight.
