Re: A classic is coming back… but only for a limited time 👀

Someone has edited my post. They added blue color to a portion of text and added text starting with "True" and a discussion about pricing JPW on ebay.

Re: A classic is coming back… but only for a limited time 👀

In the best of all worlds Shopsmith would continue to support the conventional headstock as well as the PowerPro (and every other tool it ever sold). But a lot of folks on this forum have squealed at the prices of certain repair parts coming from Shopsmith and have gone elsewhere to find them. True....

Re: question about planers

Woodcraft has a very good description of how a jointer works and how it can be used to straighten a board , flatten it or square an edge. you can see it at the link below. https://www.woodcraft.com/blogs/cabinetry-furniture-making/jointer-fundamentals I don't like the advice this guy gives about ha...

Re: Finally bogged down the powerpro!

Again, I don't own and am no expert on Shopsmith planers, but isn't their a separate feed motor? Is that potentially a source of the problem?

Yep, that would explain why waxing helped.(nothing to do with pp loading).

Agree re bogged down and stopped. Is that not what the OP is referring to? Or is this some minor speed fluctuation under varying loads?

Re: Finally bogged down the powerpro!

I don't own either the Power Pro or the Shopsmith-mounted planer. But I'd have thought the Power Pro would have enough horsepower and torque to snap the plastic power coupler to the planer before the Power Pro itself bogged down. I have occasionally had issues with my DW735 planer where I tried to p...

I agree that could be more interesting than just a change in color. But I suspect the cost of resurrecting discontinued tools would be prohibitive.

Re: A classic is coming back… but only for a limited time 👀

I'll take a guess. It has to be something that is relatively easy to do, so maybe a limited offering of new Mark 7s offered in retro colors like the classic hammered verde green or goldie color schemes?

Anyone else want to guess?

Re: Teknatool files for bankruptcy?

The legal test isn't whether they share an address but whether they are separately incorporated. At the bottom of the Stiatech website I see "Striatech USA, Inc.", and the use of "Inc." means Striatech USA is legally a separate company from Teknatool, even if if is a wholly owned...

Re: Teknatool files for bankruptcy?

[Those of you who own PowerPro headstocks should be on the phone with Shopsmith L.P. to determine how this bankruptcy of the company that makes the "smart" motor affects the future of Shopsmith L.P. lol, it is beyond unlikely anyone at Shopsmith is going to take a random call and answer t...
