Re: Restoration of Mark V / produced on 11/84
Almost finished with this bandsaw update that will go with this Mark V. I got a Plug ordered for the access hole / My idea is a MacMaster plug  . I will drill the hole once I get the plug I ordered in hand. I put a rubber grommet in the tension adjusting hole in mine to hold a short hex key i...

Re: Bandsaw Pulley
The two pulleys give you a choice of speeds. Only recently made bandsaws have a hole for tensioning. You'll need a window also so you can see the tension gauge without taking the side cover off. Here's an example of a DIY window: https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?p=182706#p182706 You can als...

Re: Missing: Bandsaw table leveling latch
Not hard to make. I do happen to have one, and the screws. PM me if you're interested.
Your picture is fine if you want to make one. I can get you exact dimensions later on if you want to go that route. Since they don't make that table anymore they probably don't carry the part.

Re: Mark V for Sale close to Home
Okay Asking price is $200.oo. What do you think? I've paid less for Greenies in that condition. What other parts and accessories are coming with it? If you have another 500 type machine with a miter gauge and saw guards then you may not need the rest of the stuff. If you're trying to make another c...

Re: Mark 7 PowerPro For Sale
Maine is too close to the Arctic Circle for me so Ottawa is out of the question. However, some idea of what you consider a reasonable offer might help find a buyer. The current price of a Mark 7 is $5,249. I don't know what the Canadian market for used Shopsmiths is like. IMO, even in the best of co...

Re: Glue to attach Planer Stainless Steel Clad to Aluminum Casting
HDPE would be a great surface for the planer bed. Very slippery. But also very difficult to glue it to the aluminum casting ;) Actually silicone would work very well to hold it down. It can be thinned to spread a light coat. If it can be wrapped over the ends of the casting it could be held down wit...

Re: Mark 7 - Under Table Routing Alignment
Hard to tell from the picture. The lock screw is not supposed to center in the divot. The conical end of the screw should only contact the side of the divot. It is not supposed to reach the bottom of the divot. It is supposed to push on the side of the divot as it is tightened.
