My 510 had this problem also. I had to remove the carriage gears and clean them. They had packed wood in the splines.

Craigslist.com and ebay are a good places to look for accessories.

I got it to work but I had to type the command in manually. I went to the start menu and clicked inside the search box and typed (e:\winopen.exe / max \index.htm) where e is the letter of my dvd drive and pressed enter. Do not enter the parentheses. I am running windows 7

Is it a DVD rather than a CD, and do those 3 computers read DVDs? Have you tried a DVD 'player'? It is a CD according to the ad. I went to the Lowe's Shopsmith demo Friday in Madison Alabama. I like the power pro and the 520. But it's not in my budget. I got the free project disk and tried it in 3 computers. It didn't work.
