520 Rail Alignment Gauges

I have a 520 Upgrade installed that I bought used. It didn't come with the gauges.

Can I buy these?

Yes, I think you can. I don't see them in a catalog anywhere but the part number is 521097 (alignment gauge).

I looked a little more and found them here.

You can always make one. The only dimensions that are important are the 13/32" x 7/16" dimensions. The others can be modified to suit yourself.

This sketch (in Paint) provides all the details.

I think I'll try to order some. They are pretty cheap.

How many do I need? I don't have the documentation.

I believe that when you order that part number you will get two. Originally, the gauge was twice as long and the instructions said to cut it in half. I use one on each end of the rail. But if you want two, you had better call customer service before you place the order. The catalog does not say.

What is critical re the 7/16" dimension? Methinks the 13/32 is the only concise one.

It is maybe an overstatement to call it "critical".

I think the 7/16 can be anything within our ability to 'handle' it. 1/2,3/8,5/8,3/4 . . .
