Obsolete?????

When I attach a photo, (at least on my computer) it does not appear in the body of my comment, but rather kinda as a link that I have to click to open. What am I missing, here. I'd like to figure out how the just get my pics into the body of the comment without clicking. (like everyone elses)

The e-clip does look like a reasonable alternative(Ya convinced this stubborn cranky opinionated old fart!;)

After 'uploading' the pix, come back to the create post window, click on the paper clip icon, and a drop down menu appears with a list of your uploads. Select the one to be inserted into the text (or all). Make sure you set the 'arrow' where you want it first.

It was almost too easy. I keep thinking I missed something. But I can't see why it won't work once the caster assembly is mounted & used, since the spring really applies very little pressure on the clip.
I haven't figured how to put links here yet (slow learner) to show the assortment pack, but besides the Harbor Freight assortment which I bought on sale for about $5-6, which gave me way more e-clips than I'll probably use in a lifetime, you can probably take the piston to a hardware store & find the right size for a few cents each. (probably shows my age, nothing is just a few cents anymore, but you get the idea)

Cool, it worked. (it's a keepsake box I made for my grand daughter for Christmas. Oak (the top & base) and ash sides.

Now all I need to figure out is the link thing.

Go to wherever you want to link to.

copy the url etc.

Go to the post screen. Position the cursor etc. Paste it there! To verify it works, preview and then try the link. Remember to come back and 'submit'.

Unfortunately they are very thin wire gauge and probably too small.

I think I mentioned earlier that I had seen similar clips in my past life in the automotive industry. I did find a couple in a parts box. they were all varieties of window clip. All the ones I found were too small. I think all the window clips are that way.
It probably doesn't matter if you find clips the same shape, as long as long as they perform the same function. (and, of course, you don't care if they look the same or not...can't really be readily seen anyway)
I did some wiggling around on the e-clip I put in (see my earlier post)

including when it's compressed, and it seems very stable. I did crimp it just a little so it was hard to snap in, but as a result, I think it won't come out without a fight.
Certainly a cheap & easy fix. (The pic doesn't show it, but there's plenty of clearance to all parts)

More clearance than the original wire clip. I had not considered this type of clip since the groove is so shallow. This type clip is usually used with a deeper groove compared to the larger od. The clip must be hyper expanded to get it on. But if it works, tis an alternative.

P.S. Evaporust!
