A while back it was discussed in a thread how to wire a 3/4 hp motor for a reverse option.
Has anyone done this for a 1.25 hp motor?

Done it, no.

AIUI the Emerson is not due to inaccessibility of the internal windings connection.

I do not know if the start winding wiring is accessible(the start winding wiring needs to be reversed for reverse rotation). I believe that is part of the internal Emerson inaccessible connection.

If you have access to both start winding ends(separated from all other windings), it should be possible. I have not heard of any hidden internal connections in GE or A O Smith motors. A 3/4HP GE motor is 'totally' convertible/reversible.

The GE and AO Smith 1 1/8 HP motors can be reversed. The two run windings and the start winding are accessible from the end. You can take the schmetic and instructions from the previous reversed 3/4 HP listed by JPG on this forum and replace the start relay part with the centrifugal switch. Capacitor hookup is the same. Pictures and sizes of the wires from the run and start windings are the same as the 3/4 HP. Send me (annbill.mayo@comcast.net) your address as I am unable to get my scanner to copy the changes to a file. I am happy to answer any questions about this change. Just be aware that it is very easy to damage the coil wires which can cause a short and make the motor unusable. Not a task for someone with fat fingers.
