1/8th inch bandsaw blade..

Post by rele »

so I began making bandsaw boxes, but am stuck with 1/4 blades, which I need to change to 1/8th.

Doubtful I will order from ShopSmith directly so what exactly do I need, to get the right fit, what are the numbers....

of course if really cheap I might just order from SS directly.

Image my surprise when I found band saw blades at Lowe's that will fit my machine. Locally they stock both 1/8" and 1/4" for under $10 each. They seem to be decent blades so far. At that price I can go thru 2-1/2 and still be money ahead over a factory original.

Woodcraft here carries the 72" as well, just not a big selection.

Remember...Shopsmith warrants all of their bandsaw blades FOR LIFE. If they break under normal use, they will replace them for free.

The "Big Boxes" won't do that.

Those are very good blades. I used to use them when I had my sawmill and they seem to stay sharp longer than any other blade I had.
