mid life crisis

So I saw a car the other day that looks like the one I had in high school. I wrote down the lic number and looked through the window and got the vin number. I was able to figure out by the vin number that this could have been mine I sold in 1981! Our local DMV doesn't keep records for sure, so I was goggling stuff and found "Dodge Charger Forum" where I could ask questions to see if this had really been my car.
The point of this thread is they use the same forum engine as SS. It was so user friendly to me because it works almost exactly the same. Maybe I'm just not worldly and everyone uses this format... any way it was kind of cool.

Yes there is a midlife crisis going on I suppose

Having a bit of one myself.

I was telling my bride that I should get somthing that gets better mileage and I could put miles on with out racking them up on the truck. She said if we were going to get something to get something that would be fun.

Hear is the new toy SWMBO authorized for us.

Yes it is a Saturn Sky, 2008, 19770 miles when we bought it (about a month ago).

I understand that under the sheet metal it is the same as the Pontiac Solstice.

This is not the TURBO unit.

I have never driven anything like this before. It corners and drives like a dream. It is a little tight to get in and out of (I'm a bit over 6'1" and heavy) but comfortable once I am in.

I 'know a guy'

that went to a roadster rally last Saturday with a car 'exactly like mine'. It was his first and he followed along with the others going through s turns and such at well above the posted limits. He says the car stuck to the curves like glue and was still accelerating hard at 110mph when he got out of the gas.

I think it is a lot of fun to drive.

You guys are making me feel old...

The first vehicle that I drove regularly that was not a tractor looked much like this except ours was a small flatbed with about 3' high sides. I would kill for one now (any model) but due to current pricing I would probably have to kill for it.

I learned to drive in one like this. Almost the same color, too.
Straight eight and a 3 speed on the column.

One like this '53 Ford was the every day driver. 6 cyl. column shift 3 speed.
Not nearly as nice as this one, though.
