The Power Station is not designed to drive the thickness planer.saminmn wrote:I am thinking of getting a joiner mounted on a power station. I was looking as SS web site and noted that thicknesser is not a power station option. I had been attracted to the add because it had a power station and an earlier thread had indicated the planer was heavy to be moving around so I had thought a semi permanent home would be good if I ever got a planer. So my question is is there a real incompatibility? Or is it just a slower operation with the lower hp and rpm?

It will work but marginally. The maximum speed from the Power Station will give you a jointer speed of 4375rpm.saminmn wrote:Sorry, this a duplicate of a thread. Do not reply (except if you know how to properly remove this erent thread)

Yes, the lower speed would reduce the quality of count. But there may be a more important (more limiting issue).saminmn wrote:Sorry to have created the duplicate thread issue. So, will lower speed make poorer quality surface
SDSSmith: Please explain. I have both a Crafters Station and a Power Station and I can mount my jointer on either of them. What am I missing???
