Create a review for a woodworking tool that you are familiar with (Shopsmith brand or Non-Shopsmith) or just post your opinion on a specific tool. Head to head comparisons welcome too.
BTW I invited our new member here after I wrote the review of his tubes. He is after all a shopsmith owner/user with or without his enterprise.
I wanted him to see what I and other are saying and have a chance to respond.
It was also I who provided a link to where they might be purchased, not he.
It is nice to know that several other members have already purchased sets, this should give us a larger base to evaluate from and for those that are interested might feel more secure in a purchase if others post positively to their purchases.
As always the view I give are my own. I do not know the seller or have any association with him, it is all about the tubes.

Update on the tape test I was running. Pulled the test tape off and as I expected it came off clean. So my favorite tape is still my favorite tape!
I put some JPW on tubes now and expect to use them as my main 5 foot tubes now.
Still would like some more feed back from other owners, if you have them post them.

Just out of interest I stuck some tape on one of the tubes, this time using my favorite. I'd like to have it on for about a week if I can wait that long and then report how it comes off.

I'll post when I have finally received mt new tubes. They should arrive this weekend or early next.
I'll test then, initially, as 5 footers but it is my intention to make new short tubes and I may use this stock to do that.
With my new shop setup and the addition of the "Shorty", I am not as inclined to use the long extension tubes. I have even repurposed my 2nd extension table.

I did not spend much time in the shop after the power cord fiasco but I was there long enough to know that:
1. The chromed surface looks as good as the Shopsmith finish.
2. They are heavier (in weight) though I did not check wall thickness.
3. They are 5' long.
4. They are straight.
Now that I have them in hand, I must decide just what I am going to do with them. I have had thoughts of cutting them to replace my regular extension tubes which I know are not straight.
I have also debated, with myself, that I should just try to figure where the bends are in the old 5' tubes and see if I can cut some straight sections from them and leave the new ones in tact. If I don't do that, I don't know what those tubes are good for.

The tubes are thicker walled than the originals. The new tubes measure .080" - .082" thick. My older tubes measure about .068". Tube OD measures 1.002" to 1.004" while the old tubes were just a couple thousands under 1.00".
I am not going to rush to cut these. I realigned extension tables using these and then installed the older short extension tubes into the set up. It seems to have worked well.
At least for a while, I'll treat these new tubes as precision equipment and not use them for day-to-day setups.
There was no sticky goo from tape on the tubes. There was no tape applied to the tubes at all. They were wrapped tightly in cardboard and then securely taped .
