Deception ordering parts
I suppose many of you have been through this but for those who have not.
This page in example
Where it says QTY. 2 that's how many they say you need.
NOT how many you get when you order that part number.
Customer service said they get a lot of calls on that and
want it changed the powers to be at Shopsmith won't change
it says price each.. the way it's listed people like me often
think that means each order and that quantity is whats in that
part number ordered.
Now I understand the system and my lesson was on cheap stuff.
So those of you who did not know that keep it in mind when ordering.

I didn't know what a Shopsmith was...
Three days later I owned one...
One week later I was rebuilding one...
Four months later I owned two....
Ok Ok, I'm up to four now...

Misleading? A bit.
Deception? I do not think so.
Fixable? IMHO Yes. Add "/asm" to the qty column header and it be less cornfusing.

OK Deceiving would have been a better word use.JPG40504 wrote:Misleading? A bit.

as Deception sounds deliberate.

'Misleading' more appropriate.

it looks as clear as a bell to me. right next to the quantity required column is a column that says "price each" clear as a bell.
That's pretty standard and easy to get, to me anyway.

I agree using basic reading skills the quantity column tells me how many I need the price column tells me the price for 1.wiredone wrote:it looks as clear as a bell to me. right next to the quantity required column is a column that says "price each" clear as a bell.

I would want it no other way.
What happens if I want 3 but the SS only needs 2 and were priced and packaged and sold by quantity needed? I would probably have to buy 4 or two packages of 2 to get the three I wanted.
Nope not for me. Tell how many I need on my machine and tell me the price for one I can figure the rest in head.
Okay I can figure the rest with my calculator.
