Thanks for the insight...just a matter of finding a used one for an affordable (to me) price I guess...hard when I live in a rather rural area with the nearest significant population areas 4-6 hours away. I'll have to wait until I find on on Craigslist somewhere and then suddenly suggest to the wife we take a family vacation that direction ;-)

Several years ago my bride bought me one from a Craigslist posting for $200. I had mentioned it but thought it might get damaged in shipping so I was going to wait until one popped up near us so I could go get it.

She called the owner and discussed packing with him. He agreed to make sure it was well protected. It arrived without damage - YEA!

BTW, my bride is a gem - don't know how she has put up with me for 44 years. Yes I'm an old timer - but I still get around pretty well.

P.S. They also show up on Ebay on occasion. If you talk to the owner you might be able to make sure it gets packaged well - the extra cost might be worth it.

Woot.
I got the bandsaw too. It came mounted on a nice cabinet with a 1/2 hp motor. Came with the manual, 20 assorted blades and a blade splicing jig.
