SPT Adapter for 10E/10ER
I saw this on the MKC website:

I'm curious if anyone has one of these, either an original Magna one or one of these after-market versions. It says these after-market ones are currently unavailable and I've never seen one of the original ones show up on the used market. Just curious how many folks out there have one or otherwise how you run Mark V SPTs on your 10E/ER?

The following PDF shows the two adapters in use.dgale wrote:What are differences between the 'A' and 'B' adapters?

Thanks - they must have either not made very many of these kits or else folks have held onto them (or lost them) over the years, as I've never seen any of the various pieces for sale. I suppose it's yet another reason to always go check out a 10E/ER for sale, as you never know what accessories may come with it.
I think I have acquired 3 complete and one partial power mount adapter kits. They use to draw a very high price on FEEbay. I do not track that stuff anymore so I do not know how often they show up or how expensive they are now.dgale wrote:Thanks - they must have either not made very many of these kits or else folks have held onto them (or lost them) over the years, as I've never seen any of the various pieces for sale. I have a "B" mount that came with a 10er I bought a while ago. It also came with a like new bandsaw. I gave $200 the 10er, bandsaw, B mount & misc accessories & didn't realize, at the time, what a good deal it was.
I later got one on ebay that was kind of a fluke. I was watching an old Magna "greenie" band saw with a broken cover. In the background was a "B" mount. Before the auction ended, I asked if the mount plate went with it, even though it was not described specifically. It did, but no one else must have realized it, because I think I got the whole works for around $75.
I think I've seen the mounts bring around $125-150 on ebay.

My dad's 1951 10er, 2 more 10er's, same vintage, a Goldie MK5, a 510 shortie with 34inch tubes, bandsaw, jointer, jigsaw, belt sander, a ton of small SS goodies and still looking...you just can't have enough Shopsmith stuff
I believe I bought a really nice set of these from you on the Yahoo group (I think thats where lol). Very happy that I purchased them and I want to Thank You again for selling them to me.SDSSmith wrote:I have the original 'A' and 'B' adapters along with the special headstock pulley with integrated drive hub manufactured by Magna.
Now that is very possible as I would offer them to the 10ER users before putting them on FEEbay. I sold one on the group (to you) and the other sold on Ebay for significantly more. I am happy that you are pleased with the items.hdoilcan wrote:I believe I bought a really nice set of these from you on the Yahoo group (I think thats where lol). I don't have any SPT's at my shop in Canada where my 10ER is but this mount came with it. It would be very easy to build and I'm sure worked well for the former owner.

This one shows the drive setup a little better. I do have a speed changer. It's just not shown in this photo.
