Wishful 'Thinking'?

That has been on craiglist for years. I went to look for the ad but it is not there so maybe they worked out a deal. Years ago it was up for $950 then I didn't see it for awhile until recently when the price was set to $850.
1986 Mark V 500, SS Bandsaw, SS Belt Sander, Shaper Package, SS Molder, SS Oscillating Drum Sander, Excalibur EX-II scrollsaw, Central Machine 6 1/8" Jointer, Rigid 13" planer, Various routers and table.

When I lived on the East Coast, the normal asking price on Craigslist for a Mark V was $1,000 for an older basic setup, up to $2,500 for a newer purchase with add-ons. Ironically those guys also would be selling Harleys at ridiculously high prices over new, claiming garbage like $20k paint job. When you call them and make any counteroffer they flip out. And the ads would stay up forever.
Basically what I figured out is this: There are a lot of dirtbags on Craigslist. There are people that buy something new, list it at a ridiculous price with no intention of selling unless someone asks to be ripped off. And there are also people that list high to help their buddies out, making that 5 year old Harley Sportster 883 at $10k look like a better deal than the 3 ads asking $12k.
Ebay surprises me though. That costs money to keep playing games.
