I think the Previous owner must have had a crack at rehabbing this machine, got frustrated, and stopped mid-disassembly. The unit has a new 3-wire cord, but the ground wire was floating in space. One of the four motor mounting screw heads was seriously damaged/ rounded out. I guess that's where he stopped
So far all is well. After dealing with said mounting screw, I pulled the motor from the pan, made a bunch of notes, took pictures, and made some alignment marks on the endbells
The motor is now disassembled and ready for bearing removal. I'm going to stop by HF today and take a look at that bearing puller kit. If I take it home with me I should be able to get this step finished tonight and ready for bearing re-install as soon as they arrive.
I need to order new belts today. I'm also pondering replacement of the control sheave(?) bearing. I've read that one is often the first to go, but mine seems to be in decent shape. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
That's it for now. I really just wanted to post back and say thanks again for the advice.

ETA: Should I start a new / different thread for rebuild questions, or do you guys prefer a new thread for each new topic? I know it's easier for people to search and find answers if there are ore individual topics, but it also helps folks understand and keep track of progress and problems when it's all in one long rebuild thread. Thoughts?
