An earring case: Test assembly before applying the finish. There are a few warts.
To get a sense of scale, the cross pieces that support the earrings are 5/8" wide by 1/8" thick. Loose tenon joints along with the hangers offered a good test for my Shopsmith supported Jointech system in cutting the many mortises safely. The Shopsmith came through like a champ for resawing and cutting the slots to hold the earrings.

I cannot take credit. I downloaded the free plans last October via the Woodworkers Journal E-zine. The plans are, WJC135 Art Deco Earring Chest. Though the plans call for maple, I had the piece of mahogany that I had reclaimed from a neighbor.
Man your daughter has a lot of 'ears' - sorta like a fly's eye(s)?:D

Very nice! I like Art Deco. I always thought that, that 'shell' motif would look great as an accent on a headboard. I'm sure your daughter will treasure this gift forever.
