My New Undermount Storage Solution
Hi all,
I just finished my undermount storage system and thought I would let you guys see it. The backbone is two lengths of angle iron recycled from a metal bed frame and bolted to the support legs. These had the extra benefit of stiffening the Mark V. Underneath these I bolted on a lightweight cabinet that holds two boxes that contain all my associated equipment. A third storage space is open for general storage. On top of this I mounted a table on which I added storage for the fence, my crosscut sled, throat plates, and miter gauge. On the back of the table I added magnets to hold my blades and a cutoff PVC pipe to hold my extension legs. What do ya'll think?

I think that setup would solve my jumping all over the place when turning large out of balance blanks when turning bowls
Nice job.

Very neat idea!!! I like the bed rails and will look into them for mine so i can weight the unit down for turning....I have some rail road rail pieces..
And I thought I was the only one had that problem??? The other little thing I run into is when using the chuck it's hard to get the inside of a project done without a lot of vibration...
thanks, bill

Great idea
Wow what a great idea and MAJOR space saver! A great space for storing the big stuff in an out of the way place, close.
I can see adding a piece of plexiglass as a top, to help keep "stuff" out, and to help with keeping it a little cleaner. We have enough to clean up now:D
Great idea and design.
