segments anyone?

Post by wa2crk »

Hi Gang;
I finally got around to trying my hand at making some segments to start doing some segmented bowls. I only made one ring at this time and incorporated it into a solid bowl of unknown species. The ring is a strip of yellow heart laminated to a piece of purple heart and then cut into segments. Each segment was then flipped to obtain the checkerboard pattern. The bowl is still mounted on my Delta lathe because the 520 is still set up with the jig that needs a bit more tweaking.

I have yet to do any turning but that makes me want to try it sometime. Very nice work.
