If you want to drive over to Houston I can loan you my headstock off of my 500 shorty that is just sitting in storage. It would be a 10 hour round trip.

The wheel is new, not he BS. Got it fm SS. The wheel is loose on the shaft, you can cant it forward and back. Using a square on upper wheel it goes from flush to 1/2" space from bottom wheel.

Sound like your upper arm and axle are lose. Check bolt,washer and nut #16,17 and 18 on this diagram.

Also check to see if the arm holding the axle is cracked. You can buy a new arm with axle for 15 bucks plus shipping.

Sorry about your problems - Hope it's the bolt!!

The new wheel should have come with a needle bearing.

Shaft doesn't move, no cracks. Is it possible that the fiber washer could be worn leaving a space between the washer and retaining ring, therefore making it able to wobble.

In/out not = wobble.;)

The hub needle bearings should completely fill the hub(no voids).
