Thanks,
Ken

From my order this should be the link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EUU ... UTF8&psc=1

Like I said they are out of stock, price was $37.95 but it could change when they are in stock again.

Thanks. They didn't show up for me on Amazon's search, but your link worked and I added them to my wish list just for fun.

I went ahead the other night and bought two sets - one for me and one for my son as a Christmas present. He is using another type of lathe but we both have Nova chucks. My order is due to get here Monday.

Mine has the arrival dates between the 22 - 27. However so far as I can tell it has not yet shipped so who really knows. Before Thanksgiving would be great.

Great gift idea for your son!

Mine arrived 11/22/13. I was a little surprised how they were shipped. A zip strip between the jaws then in a plastic wrap. The manual was in a bag and in the same box. No packing material at all. Just the little box with the Nova writing on it.

The inside of the box shows these parts took a pretty bumpy ride. The good news is that I don't see any damage to the jaws. Some of the non critical edges have burrs so I'll clean that up before I put them to use.

Nice heavy stock give a very sturdy feel. I like that.

The instructions say "BETA TEST" March 2013. No mention of these jaws still being beta versions at amazon, and for all I know maybe that is the status of what they are still shipping????

Cleaned all the oil off and they are ready to be mounted and when I get some free time later today I'll give them a go. Honey do list might make that a project for tomorrow??

One can also buy Nova items directly from Teknatool: http://www.novatoolsusa.com/searchquick ... words=6034.

I like buying directly from folks when possible. Disclaimer: I'm a contrarian.

Mine came similarly packed. I think the '..beta version..' on the instructions refers to the instructions themselves (i.e. the written instructions) rather than the parts. I am also looking forward to trying mine out.

Mine were packed the same, also, however, my G3 also had the jaws zip tied and everything coated in grease and then in plastic bags, so I figured it was normal. The live center system was packaged with cardboard "slots" and "holes" to hold all the pieces, though I presumed that was done because some might choose to store all the pieces in that box.

Have fun with the jaws. The simple set up was what I liked best. Just clamp and go.

Be well,

Ben

I finally got around to mounting the jaws on my G3 chuck. Everything looks fine and jaws fit right in the grooved section of the chuck. I used slots 2 and 4 for no particular reason.

Per the instructions I seated the jaws then loosened slightly, turn them closed thinking they were going to close per the manual with "no light" between the jaws.... that didn't happen so I had to go back to the manual, I think they mean that the jaw segments should be tightly closed, not that the jaws were going to be that way.

On mine there must about .030" gap, (eye balled value) between the jaw when tight. The jaws are parallel but separated. So unless some one says other wise I think this is correct.

At least I made some progress.

Ed

BTW
I did not attempt to mount and spin, that will have to be another day.
