Please help identify "extra" part after reassembly...

Got a part left over after putting my greenie back together and need help figuring out what it is. I was all proud of myself for taking photos as I went even though I was sure I could put it all back together without them since year machines are week though out.
Turns out I don't see this part in any of the photos and I can't place what it is from.

Is the washer like object. Not sure what the little wing screw is either if you know, but the washer is the important one. The screw was with the ss but may not even be from it.
I thought the washer was from the shieve spring but seems not.

I just finished taking the whole machine apart with the exception of the motor and the actual quill shaft so it could be anything, but I think it is from the headstock. I cleaned it all up and polished it, put it back together without the motor, which needs a new cord, so I don't lose anything. I've got to get some bearings and a and paint, then I'll finish it up right... Hopefully with no left over parts!

The round washer appears to be a spherical washer. It goes inside the headstock on the quill feed pinion. I have found several of these on the outside of the headstock under the quill lock so you are not alone. Item number 53

Yes that is the spherical quill feed washer. Orient the convex surface outward as shown by JPG here (he calls it a cup washer)

Nick Engler says to put it on with the convex side facing inward, see at 11 minutes into this video:

It makes more sense to me to have the convex surface facing out, so that is how I installed mine.

I checked on my 510, the spherical washer definitely goes with the convexity out, the flat "ears" in. When installed in reverse the quill lock will not work.

I am glad you pointed that out about the video, I, when I did mine I would have instinctively done it with the convex against the ears and the bushing into the cave side, it seems to just fit that way, then watched the video and got that same impression, but you can almost not here him in it, replayed many times, then looked at JPG pics of doing it and it was the vex out, PM him here and he confirmed the vex goes towards the bushing and cave to ears. I am glad you confirmed it about the video, now only my shrink thinks I am crazy.

ah, You people are great. Not sure how I missed it there since it is the only place it goes. I had to take the headstock back off anyhow because I managed to stick the headstock lock threaded rod on backwards so that the handle was on the far side. Luckily I found a scrap with the perfect angle and size to support the handle while I punched the pin out AGAIN.
