Sprunger Drill Press
Anybody ever see one of these?
I got it at a used tool place back in 1986. I replaced the motor with a furance fan motor a friend gave me ten years ago. Not terribly powerful, really. It is a decent machine, though. I figure it hails from the early 1950s. Pics attached below.

It's related to the SS.....
What is a cool thing is that the chuck key for the Sprunger fits the drill chuck on the SS. Perfectly.

Keeping within Jacob's immediate family there are only 15!:Dteacherman wrote:Jacobs, but I'm not sure about his son. But there are many different key sizes, and these two happen to match, which was handy, as my SS came with a good chuck, but no key.

I checked, and apparently it is a "Supreme," rather than a Jacobs. I'm just glad not to have to find another key, although the portability of the SS chuck makes that part easier.
