Making A Storm Door part 2

To strengthen the coped joints at the ends of the frame I added a dowel about 2-1/2" long. Here is my dowel jig, an old Stanley #59 fitted for 1/4" dowel guide to drill the holes.

The door was tapped and primed with white latex paint after calking. Then finished in it's final color.

Here is the door mounted on the north side of my machine shed. The medallion was painted red to match the siding.

Thanks all! I was amazed how smooth it all went. As I noted on the thread part 1, the worst part of this job was taking the blue tape up after it was painted and getting the calking on both sides of the glass to match.

We get lots of storms out of the NW and this door does a yeoman's job of keeping the weather off of the interior door which I also made out of white oak. Since the shed is heated in winter it also helps with that.
