Bandsaw - Mk V vs VII compatibility?

So, is there a bandsaw made for the Mk VII ?

Or can I get some sort of an adapter for my Mk VII to enable it to fit ?

Or does it have to do with the endcap spacing ?

Bottom line question - how can I get a bandsaw on my Mk VII ?

The bandsaw should fit a VII or a 7 or a MK5. Are you having trouble lifting the machine to the vertical with the bandsaw attached?
You may need the offset mounting tubes for the bandsaw.
Also if you do have the offset tubes ( they look like two tubes slightly offset from the other ) and if they are misaligned you will have to loosen the set screws in the bandsaw tubes so they line up with the holes in the headrest and then line up the bandsaw in both the vertical and horizontal so the power coupling will line up. Check the manuals for the bandsaw and/or the MKVII/5 for details.

Any bandsaw for the shopsmith will work. Just make sure your stop collars are set correctly. A bandsaw with stop collars should cost $150-$175 if it is in good condition. Perhaps less if you shop.

Although the spt mount is dimensionally the same as a M5/V on a MVII, the end castings are permanently attached to the bench and way tubes and therefore go with them when raised to vertical in either direction.

This means spts must be dismounted to raise to vertical(unless you do not mind them hanging over yer head!:eek::eek:.):D

I do not plan to use anything that requires verticallity (or is it vertical-ness?)
