Thanks for the paint advice. The outside is almost ready. Haven't begun on the inside but it's very clean as of current.

Also thanks for the citrustrip advice. Will look into it.

Yes, electrolysis is on the horizon for sure. Been reading up on it from various sources (mainly this one).

I thought about using a grease for the non-paint areas. Thanks again for the advice. Makes sense.

Dusty and lightnin:
Tapered plugs sound like a great idea but....mine's already in pieces!!
Certainly consider it for future restorations, if any.

The "1st Coat-Primer" folder.

First coat primed of head stock.
I think it's going to turn out nice when complete.

I actually taped the inside of the bore holes and cut the excess with a razor blade.
Turned out to be a nice tape job. Filled in bore holes and non-paint areas with "stuffing material" (anything that works-newspaper, paper towels, etc.).

The "taped" pictures are missing some additional tape necessary as a last minute check (precaution).

I placed tape over the 2 set screws and cut around with razor. I'm most proud of it! Ha!

Not sure if I should have primed the speed dial area though? Done now. Can remove later if necessary. Paint was there before.

Nothing on the inside yet. That's next on the list.

The primer coat looks good to my eyes. I will interested to see the final product for sure.

I just stuffed wadded/torn up newspapers into all the holes and sprayed away. Worked like a charm and only took a few minutes.
