Table willnot raise or lower
One of the legs of the saw table is rusted inside where it goes through the carriage. I cannot raise or lower it due to this problem. I have tried a number of suggestions from Shopsmith with no change. Can anyone help me resolve this situation?

I recently had a brake bleeder valve rusted tight on my pickup. My mechanic sprayed it with some sort of "rust buster" chemical (sorry, don't recall the product name) that worked really well. He soaked the valve, waited a week, and then it opened right up. You might check with a mechanic and see what they recommend.

I have had good results using Evapo-rust. No need to immerse the whole assembly, just wick some into the joint like you would with oil. It dissolves the rust and frees the joint.
Evapo-rust is not inexpencive but it does a good job. I guess I am too cheap/impatient to soak parts in it. I have cleaned up the tubes and other parts of a Mk5 and two 10ers and by putting a bit of Evapo-rust on a green ScotchBrite scrubbing pad and wet sanding. I am still on my first quart bottle (about an inch left) so I think it is good value for money.

Since there is aluminum and plating present, I would take it for a soak in evaporust. It will remove the red rust buildup.
Removal from the way tubes will be required to do that.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.
Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.

I know this is a long shot but, did you loosen the Table Height Lock (part #176)?
