Invisible & Inexpensive Power Lift

Invisible & Inexpensive Power Lift
I ran across a 72" heavy duty closet rod yesterday that was only 55". Someone had cut of a section (quite smoothly) and returned it for a refund. HD sold it to me for $10. I cut it to fit inside the way tube and wrapped duck tape 12" from the end so I can pull it out to the tape and raise the headstock to upright.

And that idea will also work on a 10E/R.

Absolutely fantastic, Ron. In addition to being a craftsman, you have shown that you have writing skills, camera skills, production skills and you are a great vocalist. I watched the entire presentation twice and will probably do it again.
I like your shop too. A video tour would be fun.
Right now I have to go check on a tube that fits the hole in the tie bar.

I perform the change over 10 times per day. Who needs a gym?
Not really.
Sweet idea.
Thanks to db5 and Ron!!

I also think thick walled PVC pipe will work but will leave it up to the engineers to determine if it will meet the stress test.

Re: Invisible & Inexpensive Power Lift
Regardless of who, that was very well done and required much effort.
Also a healthy sense of humor was required.
I for one appreciate it all. Thank You.
I also note I am not the only one who thinks the Power Pro and an "A" headstock are made for each other.
Add a spring to the inner end of the lever, and it would pop out by itself(just enough to grab it).
