What do you do, when a headstock is stuck on the way tubes?

After studying the anatomy of Mr. Smith, I came to the conclusion that it was not his wedges causing Mr. Smith to be stopped up!

What I found, might strike you as a tad bit alarming.

I use the rubber sticks, to clear out my abrasives and this same rubber (shards) stick to most surfaces.

Mr. Smith, only needed a little persuasion to the front of his headstock, with "light" taps, with a rubber mallet, in order to get him, in good working order again.

I have since cleaned his way tubes and applied some light weight oil to them.
(I have yet to locate, Johnsons Paste Wax) it is almost like non existent, round these parts!

So, I have success. Mr. Smith is back to, in perfect working order

Trewax is the brand that SS is selling now. Any paste floor wax that is mostly Carnauba wax will do. It doesn't HAVE to be Johnsons.

It is paste floor wax.

HD has it in the cleaning supplies dept.

I will try Lowes and Home Depot now. I guess my mind was centered around it being used for Automobile finishes!

Auto parts stores won't have it because it is floor wax not car wax.

Ace, True Value, Lowe's and Home Depot are the stores where I would be looking. In all of these locations, I have found that they do NOT put things where I would expect to find them. Floor wax just might not be in the flooring department. At the local Ace, it is in with house hold cleaning supplies.

High volume sales items are normally at waist level and above while the less popular and extremely heavy items are down low. Based on what I expect the sales history shows, I would expect JPW to have a prominent position on the shelves.

At Home Depot, this is the Store SKU # 273711. Now this may be different from store to store but you can retrieve this for your outlet by Googling

Johnson Paste Wax, (your town), Home Depot

The SKU# is the same in Tucson, Boston and Detroit. Armed with the SKU#, if the floor help can not find it, go to Customer Service.

I would expect the SKU to be the same for all HD stores.

Think of it as a HD model#.

SKU = Stock Keeping Unit.
