Yesterday I happened to be digging through piles of stuff and found my 386SX. upgraded to 4MB at $100 a meg! I was the envy of most everyone in my building because I had a computer and a subscription to GENIE!! I sort of miss that time.

Unix was invented by AT&T which then licensed it to various companies.
BSD was the University of Berkley's, Zenix was Microsoft, AIX was IBM's and there were others. At&t eventually sold rights to Novell which then sold it to Santa Cruz Operations SCO. It then became open source and is used in many operating systems the biggest is Apple OS. Linux is a clone of UNIX.
