Rebel
Yes, I am a rebel!
48x18.75 with back tilted @5 degrees, for comfort.
This built, like a brick $hit house, strong like a bull.
Frame is put together with 2 inch deck screws, planks are fastened with 6d penny galvanized, twisted shank nails. Back is mounted with 3 lengths of 1/2 inch all thread. And yes, very heavy. it is built to last.
All paint and stain is double coated.
I will use this bench, in an up and coming farm show vending event, for advertising. If it sells, it will go to the highest bidder, but not until, the end of the show.

Re: Rebel
Be prepared to cover it as some people might say it isn't Politically Correct and offensive.
We are seeing this in the south right now.
Revisionist history has made the civil war a fight over slavery instead of state rights.

I consider the expression 'Politically "Correct"' to be an oxymoron(self contradictory).Ed in Tampa wrote:Be prepared to cover it as some people might say it isn't Politically Correct and offensive.

Those who mindlessly think it 'offensive' can simply chose to not 'look' long enough to 'react'.
I am sure King George considered the Betsy Ross flag 'offensive' when preceding the attacks on the redcoats.
Offensiveness like beauty is in the mind of the beholder.
Poor taste is a different animal.
All this because of a misguided youth!
BTW, nice bench!

Re: Rebel
I won't cover it, they need to read history 101.
Here is a more conservative looking, stars and bars flag, bench. (well the back of it, anyways)

Re: Rebel
You have every right to display the flag in any way you want. No one will take that away from you. But there's a difference between private speech and government speech. And I'm happy that some state and local governments are backing away from that flag.
I'm not trying to provoke a debate. That would be futile and would descend quickly into acrimony. I just want the lurkers to know that we aren't all on the same side of this controversy.

And that is precisely why, this conflict occurred. The north (Ole Abe) was worried that these 13 colonies would not help in keeping the government solvent.davebodner wrote:You have every right to display the flag in any way you want. Newest variety of the above bench. This one is a bit conservative.
All carved using a non plunge trim router. 3 coats of poly finish.

I noticed the stars were recessed. Did you rout them freehand, as you did lettering, or did you make a template.ExtraMile wrote:....
