WI-FI TOOL
Hoping someone here knows of a good(free) wi fi signal diagnostic program that works for B/G/N access points.
Simultaneous results from multiple Access points required. Think Motel like with several close by.

Re: WI-FI TOOL
Just returned from a board meeting for a time share owners meeting. Recently had installed a wi-fi system in 50 units. Complaints are currently still rampant!!!
IMHO the location chosen for the APs is asinine(at an extreme 'end' of the units).
I 'think' the responses from the 'provider' we are getting are BS.(moving to a central location will not help!!!)
I merely want to be able do do some analyzing/evaluating myself.

Re: WI-FI TOOL
Some of the units must be at the "near end". Is the reception excellent there? Is there a limit for how many units can be serviced by a single AP???

Re: WI-FI TOOL
I use(d) this. Along with our dialup access, our direct T1 connections, and our proprietary wireless high speed access over a 500 square mile radius, the Hotspots could always be the most troublesome.JPG wrote:Just returned from a board meeting for a time share owners meeting. Re: WI-FI TOOL
As installed, one AP/unit. Yes they work well at the 'near end'. Trouble is, that is in a remote corner with (multiple)concrete walls between it and more accessible(likely desired) areas.BigSky wrote:Some of the units must be at the "near end". Thank You!!!!!!
I am suspicious that since they(APs) are in closer proximity to each other than the far reaches of their unit that may be causing them to squabble over channels.
Will be a while before I will be back down there to try this out.
Fun sniffing my neighbors in the mean time!

Could you use 'repeaters' to get out from behind or around the barrier walls.JPG wrote:As installed, one AP/unit. Yes they work well at the 'near end'.
