HORZONTAL DRILLING
When drilling the tool bit chatters and makes a terrible noise. The speed is ok and the drill is sharp. I also took the time to level the table parallel to twist drill. Any ideas?

Chuck not correctly mounted on spindle.
Or bit not properly centered in chuck.
Or bit bent.
Or bit not properly centered in chuck.

Did you have the work piece securely clamped to the work table?

When in drill press mode does it react the same? If you remove the chuck, does it still act up? When you remove the drill bit?
What type of wood? Ironwood? Any chance of hitting a broken nail or something?
