Re: HI Everyone. New hear. First Shopsmith. First question.
Thank you all for the quick responses and kind welcome. The model is 555510 and serial number is 040690. If i am reading the serial number chart correctly it is an 1990. The Shopsmith came with the 510 table(s) and the Vacuum which were two of the three things I was looking for. The other is a jointer with the vacuum attachment which i will have to try and score on craigslist or ebay. The machine was very dirty and came with a pile of other tools. Having fun cleaning it up, watching the Shopsmith videos and reading on the forum.
Thanks again,
Bill

Hi Everyone
I am wondering if my gauge is missing a part on the bottom? It seems sloppy toward the rear (claims side).
Thanks
Bill

Re: HI Everyone. New hear. First Shopsmith. First question.
I see one thing for sure and a maybe.
The clamp handle is supposed to fit over the end of the miter bar and is secured with a screw.
The tilt stop pin looks unusual.
A closeup of the end would be helpful.

JPG beat me to it.
This photo shows the screw through the base of the handle.

Thanks for quick responses. I moved the claim handle and it is much better now!! Not sure what the tilt stop pin is yet - going to have to look it up.

You need the screw that goes through the base of the handle into the block. It is part 261 in the diagram.
For some reason, when I click it, it isn't coming up with the correct part number or price. Call customer service Monday.

Make that a miter angle stop pin. It looks 'normal'.

Not in the parts list either, but it is an 8-32 x 3/4 fillister(?) head screw. (1 1/4 would work better)algale wrote:You need the screw that goes through the base of the handle into the block. It is part 261 in the diagram.
